Korean Graffitist

I’ve been working in childcare part-time again over the semester break and decided to set myself a challenge: whenever I get a chance to sit and draw with the kids I have to ask them for suggestions as to what to draw. I have to take the first suggestion, unless it’s something I’ve already done recently. It’s great because it forces me to interperate subjects I wouldn’t normally do, like a “graffitist”.

I thought for a bit and then remembered a documentary film a girl made at the ANU last year about graffiti bombing in South Korea. I adapted the outfit from a previous doodle and worked it into a bit more of a character, taking the sketch home and developing it.

I’m also trying to develop my drapery and inking skills.

Ink on paper with digital colours.

Enjoy!
