I've been developing an idea I had a while ago for a short based on a certain cryptozoological phenomenon.  (I love unexplained mysteries, even when I don't believe them.)

I'm excited for it, since it'll give me a chance to do comedy while also incorporating the dark and mysterious stuff I've been having fun doing for the past few months.

Digital.

The Heath Ledger Young Artists Oral History Project

So this morning I did an interview at the Australian Film and Sound Archive as part of the first stage of the Heath Ledger Young Oral History Project.  Basically, since Ledger died so young there aren't that many biographical interviews with him.  Because of this the Film and Sound Archive have started this project to interview young Australian artists at different points in their careers.

I got recommended for it by my old faculty at ANU, so I'm going to be doing a recorded interview every five years for the next twenty.  As wierd as it feels to talk about yourself on camera for an hour, it's a nice honour to be included in it.

Corban and Crew

These are from some from sketches I did for our first visual storytelling assignment, where we had to illustrate a scene from a story that Mandrews had written and read aloud to us. It was the first chapter of this pulpy sci-fi adventure about the legendary space captain Corban and his crew, including... giant lizard man and bat guy. (I can't remember their names.)

Anyway, I redrew them to practise inking some more.

For some reason I imagine the bat guy being German.

Enjoy!
